Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake Core i3, i5 and i7 desktop processors with turbo speeds up to 5.3GHz announced


Intel has finally launched their 10th Gen Intel Core Comet Lake S-series processors for desktop, with its flagship Core i9-10900K processor that can turbo boost up to 5.3 GHz. These processors have many technologies like Intel Thermal Velocity Boost, Intel Hyperthreading Technology, Intel Ethernet Connection I225, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 and more.

The 10th Gen Intel Core i9-10900K is Intel’s fastest consumer desktop processor with 10 cores, 20 threads and out of the box support for DDR4-2933 memory speeds. Some of the important features in this generation of processors are:

  • Intel Thermal Velocity Boost: Dynamic automatic boost across single-core and multicore workloads
  • Intel Hyperthreading Technology: Available across 10th Gen Intel Core i9 to i3 processors.
  • Enhanced Core & Memory OverclockingImproved control over overclocking processor and key system components.
  • Intel Ethernet Connection I225: Delivers greater than two times the network speeds of 1GB Ethernet on existing cabling.
  • Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201: Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) is now integrated into 10th Gen Intel Core desktop processors.

Intel claims improvements in performance for gaming and productivity which include:

  • Up to 187 frames per second for in-game performance while streaming and recording, and up to 63 percent more frames per second in gaming compared with a 3-year-old PC.
  • Up to 12 percent faster video editing compared with the previous generation, and up to 15 percent faster video editing compared with a 3-year-old PC.
  • Up 18 percent faster 4K video editing compared with the previous generation, and up to 35 percent faster 4K video editing compared with a 3-year-old PC.
  • Up to 31 percent better overall system performance compared with a 3-year-old PC.

Intel’s 10 Generation Core S-series desktop processors are expected to available from May globally through normal retail channels, system integrators and OEMs.
