The ASUS Republic of Gamers today announced the Strix GL12CX which is the world’s first desktop to use the recently launched NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics engine. It also features specially selected, factory-overclocked Intel CPUs and also fitted with a custom liquid cooling system to ensure uninterrupted and reliable performance.

It is powered by the 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K processor with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti (11GB) and 512GB PCIe. It is fully unlocked for further fine-tuning via the Armoury Crate software, which also lets you customize the Aura Sync lighting inside and out. It has a customized Cooler Master CPU liquid cooler, along with an extra 90mm fan at the back on the overclocked models then help to keep processor temperatures in check.

The GL12CX’s fastest processor is matched to NVIDIA’s latest and greatest graphics engine based on the Turing architecture. Known as the GeForce RTX series, Turing mixes CUDA cores for traditional rasterization with RT cores for ray-traced effects and Tensor cores that accelerate noise removal through Deep Learning Super Sampling.

The included Armoury Crate software allows for the customization of the RGB lighting that spills of these intake and exhaust vents. ASUS’ Aura Sync technology also allows users to synchronize the system lighting with compatible peripherals. The Aura Sync lighting can also reach to in-game events and environments and is also compatible with games such as the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

The GL12CX has a hot swap SSD bay allowing for quick swapping in of profiles and games without needing to shut down the system to install a new drive with the required tools. The hot swap bay also greatly simplifies storage upgrades for all users. The GL12CX includes ASUS’ DIMM.2 module that slots into the system new Z390 motherboard. This expansion card uses a memory-style slot to provide two M.2 connections for SSDs. The DIMM.2 module integrates heatsinks for each SSD. These two additional connections allow for dual NVMe drive, RAID configurations.

The ROG Strix GL12CX include a 2-in-1 card reader, two USB 3.1 and two USB 2.0 ports. It offers a total of six USB ports along, five audio jacks and a digital S/PIDF connector for compatible receivers, 802.11ac Wave 2 WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0. The ASUS ROG Strix GL12CX will be available from December.
