Realme 1 Unboxing and First Impressions

OPPO’s Realme just launched the new Realme 1 smartphone in India, as it had promised, in partnership with Amazon India. The first phone in this new series, the Realme 1 is meant to take on the smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Note 5 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and others in the price range.

The Realme 1 comes with a glossy back and a symmetrical design that makes the phone look like a diamond with each angle reflecting and shinning different black colors. The symmetrical-artwork and spatial effect is created by compressing 12 layers including optical filming and so on, plus nanoscale metallic coating. There are 15 tangent planes carved on the back body, and each plane has different colors. These colors differ as the density and dip angle changes.

The build quality of the device looks premium, and on the other hand, bit slippery as well. It is brittle and prone to fingerprint. So we suggest you to use the phone with the case given inside the box. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 12nm SoC and has 6GB of RAM.

The Realme 1 has a 6-inch FHD+ Full-Screen display on the front with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The display looks vibrant, color reproductions, viewing angles are good too. It comes with options including — screen color temperature adjustment, blue light filter and more.

It has a 8-megapixel camera on the front along with the usual set of sensors. You can unlock the phone with your face once you get your face registered to your phone. Most of the time it worked well for us. On the flip side, it lacks the fingerprint scanner.

It has dedicated dual SIM and microSD slots, in addition to 128GB storage. On the back there is a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash. It has AI Shot technology in Realme 1 can identify 296 facial point. The phone is powered by a 3410mAh battery with AI battery management ensuring the battery life of around 15 hours. It also utilizes a smart battery management system to prevent excessive drain.

The Realme 1 will be available in Solar Red, Moonlight Silver and Diamond black colors exclusively on for Rs. 8,990 for the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version, Rs. 10,990 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version and Rs. 13,990 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version starting from May 25th.
