Google Android P said to embrace iPhone X Notch design

Google is said to be planning on taking the iPhone X  notch design with its next major OS upgrade, and it will also be a complete overhaul of its software according to the sources of Bloomberg. Furthermore, the next major update will tightly integrate the Google’s voice assistant, improve battery and support new designs, like multiple screens and foldable displays.

Google’s goal is to lure maximum iPhone users to shift to its Android operating system by working on improving the look and feel of the software. Though Google is dominating the low-end of mid-range smartphone segment, it is the flagship and premium segment that is lagging behind Apple with users who spend more on apps and other services. For this exact reason, Google believes that embracing the iPhone X style notch design will help it.

This means that we may actually see Android phones with a notch at the top of the screens to fit cameras and other sensors. This, however, will have support for new features which might help Android users keep up with similarApple technology. However, it is unlikely that Google might actually solve the nagging software update rollouts which make billions of Android phone exposing security holes and holding them back in terms of latest innovation.

Since Google is just a provider of Android OS, not all phones might embrace the top notch, in fact, Samsung even mocked Apple when iPhone X released back in November. Currently, the Essential phone is the only one in the market to have a notch on top within the display. If rumors are to believed, then the Huawei P20 will be next on the list.
