Google to reportedly release three Snapdragon 835 powered Pixel phones in 2017

Google is expected to launch three Pixel devices this year. It has been reported that the company is working on two Pixel phones codenamed as Walleye and Muskie. Now, a leak from Android Open Source Project is suggesting there is a third device in making as well. All the three Pixel phone are tipped to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor.

German tech site WinFuture.de came across the Pixel codenames connected with CPU model number MSM8998 (the Snapdragon 835) in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code. The leak also suggest that the third device will not a cheaper model as it will sporting Qualcomm’s flagship processor Snapdragon 835. Google is also said to be working on a budget smartphone but it will not have the Pixel branding.

Google’s SVP for hardware Rick Osterloh recently confirmed that the Pixel 2 will be released this year, and will stay premium. According to earlier rumors, the Pixel 2 will be waterproof, expected to be powered by Snapdragon 835 chip and come with an improved camera.The Pixel 2 is said to see at least $50 price increase, so it might start at $699.
