Acer unveils Chromebox CX12


Acer has introduced Chromebox CX 12, the desktop PC running Chrome OS at the ongoing Computex 2015. The Chromebox CX 12 is the successor to the Chromebox CX1 that was announced last year.

The latest Chromebox CXI2 will be equipped with a Intel Broadwell series, an option of either a Core i3 or Celeron processor. It will have up to 8GB of RAM DDR3 and come with Intel HD integrated graphics, 1600MHz dual-channel and 16GB SSD. There are four USB ports and an HDMI-out for a monitor or display. Connectivity options include Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 802.11ac , Bluetooth 4.0 and SD card reader. The Mini PC is also equipped with a mouse and keyboard optimized for Chrome OS.

The Chromebox CX12 can also be used by business users as it is equipped with Citrix Ready, desktop virtualization and has TPM 1.2 security chip and a Kensington lock similar to its predecessor. Acer CXI2 Chromebox is expected to be available after the summer with a starting price of less than $ 199. Yesterday, Asus introduced Chromebox CN62 at the event.
