ZTE to launch Tegra 4-powered Smartphones by mid-2013



ZTE has announced that they would launch smartphones that are powered by the latest Nvidia Tegra 4 processors. Nvidia announced the Tegra 4 processor with 72 GPU cores and 4 ARM A15 CPU cores at the CES 2013 last month. The Tegra 4 chip supports 4G LTE voice and data through Icera i500 modem, and ZTE also have plans to launch LTE smartphone with LTE support .

ZTE Grand X is the first smartphone powered by both the Tegra processor and NVIDIA’s Icera modem. ZTE Mimosa X with a Tegra 2 processor and Icera 450 modem and the ZTE Grand Era with a quad-core Tegra 3 processor was announced at the MWC 2012.

ZTE would launch the first Tegra 4 smartphones in China in the first half of 2013.
