ASUS NovaGo and HP Envy x2 PC are the first Windows 10 Snapdragon always connected PCs

At the Qualcomm’s second annual tech summit, Asus and HP have finally launched Snapdragon-powered Windows laptops after briefly teasing at the Computex earlier this year. The ASUS NovaGo is the world’s first Gigabit LTE capable laptop which is powered by the Snapdragon 835 chipset. 

The Asus NovaGo sports a 13.3-inches Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display with 78% screen to body ratio, 10-point multi-touch, ASUS Pen support with 1024 pressure levels. It is powered by the 2.45GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform with 710 MHz Adreno 540 GPU. The NovaGo runs on the latest Windows 10s operating system which has all the required app in the store and also supports 32-bit x86 applications. Snapdragon 835 will have own optimized versions of Office365. The laptop comes with 360º hinge design and weighs in at 1.39 kgs.

ASUS Nova Go

The Asus NovaGo laptop comes with ASUS Eye Care and Tru2Life video technology. The laptop comes in two variants; one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and the high-end model with 8GB RAM and 128 or 256GB storage options. As for connectivity and ports are concerned, there is Qualcomm Integrated X16 LTE with Cat 16 download speed of up to 1 Gbps and Cat 13 with an upload speed of 150 Mbps, 802.11ac Wi-Fi/MiMo, 2 x USB 3.1 (5 Gbps) Type-A. A 3.5mm Audio Jack, 1 Combo Nano-SIM (tray), 1 MicroSD Card Reader (up to 256 GB), 1 HDMI, 1 DX-in. The laptop comes with 52 Wh Li-Po that promises up to 22 hours of battery life on a single charge and 30 days modern stand-by time.

On the other hand, the HP Envy x2 PC is a tablet/laptop hybrid and an Always Connected PC that combines the best of a smartphone experience and Windows. The laptop sports a 12.3-inches WUXGA+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile PC Platform Octa-Core processor with up to 8 GB LPDDR4X PoP memory and up to 256 GB storage. It runs on the Windows 10s operating system with the one-time option to switch to Windows 10 Pro. It weighs just 699 grams.

HP ENVY x2

The laptop features Qualcomm Integrated X16 LTE with Cat 16 download speed of up to 1 Gbps and Cat 13 with an upload speed of 150 Mbps. The company is promising a battery life of up to 20 hours on a single charge and get up to 700 hours in Connected Modern Standby. Connectivity features include  802.11ac Wi-Fi/MiMo, 2 x USB 3.1 (5 Gbps) Type-A. A 3.5mm Audio Jack, 1 Combo Nano-SIM (tray).

The Asus NovoGo will be available in markets like US, UK, Italy, France, Germany, China, Taiwan in the first wave. In the US, the NovaGo laptop will be available to purchase through T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon carriers. The base 4GB RAM with 64GB storage model is priced at $599 (Rs. 38611.84 approx.) and the high-end 8GB RAM with 128GB storage costs $799 (Rs. 51,507.54 approx). On the other hand, the HP Envy x2 PC will be available in Spring 2018, and the pricing and mobile carriers will be revealed when it goes on for sale.
