OnePlus 5 is Made in India by OPPO

OnePlus launched its much anticipated flagship smartphone – OnePlus 5 in India last week. The OnePlus 5 is now available via open sale on Amazon.in and OnePlus online store in the country. OnePlus had already forayed into the Make in India initiative by teaming up with Foxconn to manufacture phones. The recently launched OnePlus 5 is also Made in India.

We have already reviewed the OnePlus 5 which was a unit from China however, we have just received a retail unit from India. The retail unit box of the OnePlus 5 mentions that the phone has been manufactured by OPPO Mobiles India Private Limited at its Noida factory.

The OPPO R11 and the OnePlus 5 have similar camera as the former sources the cameras for the latter. For those unaware, OnePlus, OPPO, and Vivo are wholly owned by BBK Electronics.

Just for a quick refresh, the OnePlus 5 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED display with DCI-P3 color coverage and has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) based Oxygen OS. The OnePlus 5 Slate Gray 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version is priced at Rs. 32,999 and the top-end Midnight Black 8GB RAM with 128GB version costs Rs. 37,999.
