Sony files patent for wireless charging between two devices

Sony wireless phone-to-phone charging patent

Sony has filed for a patent that makes it easier to wirelessly charge your phone from other device. The patent that was filed at the US Trademark and Patent Office, will let you take battery power wirelessly from a nearby device.

Titled  “Configuration of Data and Power Transfer in Near Field Communications”, the patent describes a system by which two devices could wirelessly exchange power via Near Field Communication technology. According to the patent, the  devices could search for nearby antennas to get the juice, similar to a way device look for available Wi-Fi hotspots.

It must be noted that the company has just filed for a patent and it is not known when or if Sony will turn this into a real product.
