Skype for Business app now available for Android

Microsoft has launched Skype for Business app for Android. The company had rolled out its iOS counterpart in October this year.

Skype for Business app lets you chat using both voice and video, instant message, conference call, and more. The app gets a new dashboard which puts contact search bar, upcoming meetings and most recent conversations in one place. To join a meeting you will simply have to tap the Quick Join icon to the right of your appointment name. There is an addition of full-screen video along with larger call-control buttons to mute and add participants to a meeting.

The contact search bar allows you to search your Global Address List by name, email or even a phone number. You can also easily search for a contact within your organized Skype for Business groups and add or remove a contact. Skype for Business now supports modern authentication, which is utilized by other Office clients. The app replaces the old Lync 2013 app on Android and current users of that app will be automatically updated based on their device settings.
