Huawei Android Wear watch teased, release set for September 2nd


Huawei announced Android Wear smartwatch dubbed as Huawei Watch at MWC earlier this year. Now, it looks like the company is finally ready to release the smartwatch this week and is creating a buzz with a teaser image.

Huawei has teased its smartwatch by posting an image on Twitter that reads “Elegance and Power in perfect harmony”, followed by the date 2nd September and the location i.e. Berlin. Last week, the Huawei Watch was listed on Amazon for pre-order but it was soon taken down. As per the listing, the watch was priced starting at $349 for stainless steel model with a black leather band. The Huawei Watch comes in gold, silver and black colors with stainless steel and leather band options.

  • 1.4-inch (400 x 400) pixels AMOLED Display, scratch-proof sapphire crystal lens, 286 ppi
  • 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • 512MB RAM, 4GB eMMC
  • Android Wear OS (compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 and above)
  • Sensors: 6-Axis motion sensor, Barometer, heart rate monitor

Along with the Huawei Watch, the company is also expected to announce the Mate S smartphone this week.
