Grofers ties up with local merchants to manage their inventories and expose them to customers in their area through their mobile app. Users can access this inventory and place orders with the local merchant using the android app. Currently, Grofers operates 18 delivery centres across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore and plans to open another 20 over the next year to further get closer to their end consumer.

“Grofers has been growing at a great pace across Delhi NCR and Mumbai and we recently launched our operations in Bangalore as well. We continue to make the process of delivery smoother for the end consumer and are excited to announce our new application that will let users place orders from multiple retailers. We are also making our API’s public at grofers.com/api so third party market places and logistics companies can take advantage of our hyper-local network to get closer to their end consumers.”

said Albinder Dhindsa, Co-founder and CEO of Grofers in a press release.

The Grofers Android app is currently available only in Delhi NCR while the company is working on B2B model in Mumbai and Bangalore. Grofers has also received a funding from Sequoia Capital and Deepinder Goyal of Zomato in September this year.

Update –  The Grofers Android app is now live in Mumbai.
