Nokia Supernova is here – 3 new handsets that redefine slick

on June 9, 2008 – 1:09 pm2 Comments

At the moment it seems like a rumour. But the pictures of the Nokia Supernova series have been released on a few websites across Europe. Being touted widely as “girly” handsets (personally I would take offence to that), the Supernova series consists of three handsets, Nokia 7610, Nokia 7510 and Nokia 7310.

Nokia 7310 Supernova

The handset is based on the Nokia S40 user interface and sports a 2 megapixel camera, a 2.2-inch 16M color QVGA display, a built-in FM radio, stereo Bluetooth and a 3.5mm audio jack.

This tri-band handset weighs only 83g.

Price:

145 euro which is approximately Rs 9600/-

This handset is also based on the S40 user interface. It is a slick slider phone with quad-band GSM/EDGE support.

Specs & features:

• 3.3 megapixel autofocus camera
• 16M color QVGA display
• FM radio with RDS
• microSD memory card slot

The most interesting thing about the Nokia 7610 Supernova is its capability of recording VGA resolution videos at 30fps which is a rather unprecedented feature in S40 handsets as well as in most feature phones in general.

Nokia is mum about the price of this handset as of now.

Nokia Supernova is here – 3 new handsets that redefine slick

    Posted: 09 Jun 2008 02:39 AM CDT

    Nokia 7610 Supernova

This handset is also based on the S40 user interface. It is a slick slider phone with quad-band GSM/EDGE support.

    Specs & features:

    • 3.3 megapixel autofocus camera
    • 16M color QVGA display
    • FM radio with RDS
    • microSD memory card slot
    • TV-out port

The most interesting thing about the Nokia 7610 Supernova is its capability of recording VGA resolution videos at 30fps which is a rather unprecedented feature in S40 handsets as well as in most feature phones in general.

Nokia is mum about the price of this handset as of now.

Finally – Nokia N78 launched in India

    Posted: 09 Jun 2008 02:29 AM CDT

Nokia finally launched the N78 in India equipped with a special feature – the ‘Location Tagger’ application, which automatically tags location data to the picture – allowing users to save pictures by date as well as by geographical coordinates.

At the launch, Vineet Taneja, Head-GTM, Nokia India said “The slim Nokia N78 fuses features in new ways.”

“It features location-tagging, which merges camera functionality and A-GPS to not only share pictures but also the places where they were taken. Users can now store all information about locations they visit using an image and share it online with the world. It also allows the fusion of music, camera and internet, enabling users to generate content right from the palms of their hands,” he added.

The N78 is the successor to the highly successful N73 . The highlights of the phone include Wi-Fi and FM Transmitter

    Price:

At Rs. 19,999 it is well priced for its features.

    Colours:

    Cocoa Brown and Lagoon Blue.
