Galaxy Note Edge UK launch delayed again?

The rollout of the Galaxy Note Edge is fast turning into Samsung’s saga of the year as the unique twin of the Galaxy Note 4 could be delayed yet again. We’ve already seen the handset launch slip with the initial launch rumoured for the middle of November before being pushed back to November 28 and then again to December 12th. The latest information we have comes directly from Samsung’s UK online store and suggests the launch may be pushed back a further 5 days with Note Edge shipments set to begin on December 17th.

Gavin Fabiani on Twitter, who also runs tech blog Gavin’s Gadgets, got in touch in a reply to an article we wrote on a couple of weeks ago about the launch date being pushed back to December 12th. According to Gavin, he was one of the first to order the handset directly from Samsung’s online store – he placed his order as soon as pre-orders opened – and the online order page says his handset won’t be despatched until December 17th meaning the earliest Gavin can expect to receive it is December 18th.

In comparison, Carphone Warehouse still states December 12th as the potential release date but Samsung’s own online store says the handset won’t begin shipping until December 17th. Other retailers such as Clove and MobileFun state no confirmed release date whilst MobiCity says it expects to begin shipments in 1-3 weeks (10-15 working days). Is Carphone Warehouse set to offer the handset before Samsung directly or have either Samsung or Carphone Warehouse failed to update their website? When is the handset exactly launching? We’ve reached out to Samsung, Carphone Warehouse and a few online retailers to see if we can establish when the handset will launch and we’ll update this post accordingly.
