Apple Requests Ban on Nokia Phones in US

on January 18, 2010 – 12:37 am2 Comments

After Nokia’s request to the ITC (International Trade Commission) to ban pretty much every Apple product including the iPhone, iPod and MacBook, Apple have now come up with their own ban request.

Apple has reportedly asked the International Trade Commission to ban import of Nokia phones into the US.

The fight between Apple and Nokia has been ongoing for quite some time now. It started when Nokia sued Apple for infringing upon Nokia’s patents for GSM, UMTS and Wi-Fi. Later on it was extended to the use of camera sensors and touchscreens.

Looks like both the companies are going all out to bring each other down. Lets watch and see what happens.

nokia started it…plus apple has killed nokia’s sales..sadly, but then again to some extent nokia deserves it…b’coz nokia isn’t doing much, they have killed a very potential Maemo platform….its just sad…i always remember…nokia for their ”worlds first” handset….and now….

Nokia still has 40% of world mobile phone sales though, why would you say they are doomed? I never liked the iPhone and I’m buying an Nokia N900 although I have never had a Nokia before (I had a lot of phones so far :D ).
Nokia still sells 2-3 times more smartphones than Apple, although Apple is coming up year on year out but much very much…
Apple sell much more handset each year because the smatphone market is widening every year so ALL manufacturers sell more and more smartphones each year.
