Epson has launched the WorkForce DS-530III, an A4 duplex sheet-fed colour scanner for businesses. The scanner is designed for document digitisation and day-to-day office scanning.

The DS-530III scans at up to 40ppm/80ipm and handles up to 6,500 pages per day. Its automatic feeding mode supports multiple documents, including pages of different sizes, in a single batch.
Document protection and media handling
The scanner uses Paper Protection and Double Feed Detection Skip (DFDS) technology to detect abnormal paper feeds. It can scan documents with folds and stickers while reducing the risk of damage. In addition, glass dirt detection alerts users when dirt is detected, helping reduce re-scans and maintain consistent scan quality.
For different document types, the DS-530III supports:
- Carrier sheets for fragile or irregular-sized documents
- Automatic carrier sheet detection
- Ultrasonic detection to identify overlapping documents
- Length detection to identify long documents
Scanning and flatbed support
For everyday scanning, the DS-530III features a control panel with one-touch scanning for frequently used functions. Its one-pass duplex scanning captures both sides of a document at the same time.
For additional scanning options, users can pair the DS-530III with the Epson Perfection V39II flatbed photo scanner through an optional flatbed dock. This setup allows thicker materials such as books and fragile documents such as receipts to be scanned.
Software and document management
The DS-530III comes with Epson Scan 2 and Document Capture Pro software. Together, they support scan quality adjustments, searchable PDFs using OCR, and file organisation. The software also provides:
