Intex Aqua Octa Unboxing and First Impressions

The Intex Aqua Octa is one of the first phones in the Indian market to feature the first “True Octa” processor from the MediaTek, the MT6592. It is also Intex’s first 6 inch phone in the mid range category, priced at Rs. 19,999. With new innards, a big screen and a decently built body, the Aqua Octa is an interesting device to enter this market. We have got hold of the retail version of this device, so if you are looking to pick one up, here’s an unboxing video that will show you the box contents, a quick overview of the device and more –

The box includes a free flip cover, along with several other usual box contents. Here are all of them laid out in a single picture –

Box Contents

  • Intex Aqua Octa in Silver-White
  • Flip cover with kick stand
  • 0.2 A charger plug with USB
  • Scratch guard for the screen
  • Information booklets for warranty, user manual and apps
  • micro USB cable
  • In-ear headset with mic

Lets talk about the phone now. Immediately after taking the phone out, we noticed how good the build quality is. The metal plate on the back is nicely designed and feels very rigid, making the phone feel premium. The plastic too is not bad, it was sturdier than most other phones.

Over at the front we have a nice 6 inch 720p screen, which has really good viewing angles, brightness and everything. When turned off, the phone looks even better, with thin bezels on the sides and a really dark facade overall. One of the more impressive displays we have seen at this price range. Another interesting component to take note of, is the 700 MHz Mali 450 GPU, which should offer way better performance than the PowerVR SGX544 GPU we usually see in MediaTek chipsets. We will be bringing you more information on the phone in benchmarks, gaming review and so on, so stay tuned to the blog and check our YouTube channel regularly for new content.
