KRAFTON India has officially announced “Kiaraa,” the first original in-game character intellectual property (IP) created entirely in India by its in-house art team for BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI).
Slated for release on October 8, 2026, as part of the game’s 4.6 update, the character has been developed exclusively for the Indian player base.
While previous additions to BGMI over the past five years largely relied on licensed global franchises or established celebrity likenesses, KRAFTON began pivoting toward original characters with the release of “Anamika” in 2025. Kiaraa marks an expansion of this approach, becoming the first India-designed character in the game to feature an original origin story, a dedicated map location, and a comprehensive thematic collection.
Narrative and Lore
According to the official lore released by KRAFTON, Kiaraa’s presence on the Erangel map is rooted in local myth. Legends on the island suggest she materializes during periods marked by greed, betrayal, and cowardice among combatants. Rather than seeking to control the battlegrounds, the character’s narrative frames her as an arbiter arriving to judge the players who fight on Erangel.
New Map Integration: The Bazaar
Alongside Kiaraa comes “The Bazaar,” a new festive point of interest (POI) on Erangel. Serving as the second India-themed environment in BGMI—following the introduction of the Stepwell in 2025—the location features Diwali-themed festive decor and is designed as a dense urban area prone to tactical ambushes.
The Bazaar also functions as the arena for “Kiaraa’s Test,” a cooperative boss encounter. Players can trigger the event by landing in the central courtyard, tracking four blue indicators, and activating four corresponding peacock-shaped lamps. Once summoned, a color-lit dome forms a designated Boss Fight Zone. Squads entering the zone face Kiaraa, who utilizes bow-based attacks and area-of-effect arrow barrages, with high-tier in-game loot rewarded to squads that defeat her.
Kiaraa Nakshatra Collection and Festive Events
The character release is accompanied by the “Kiaraa Nakshatra Spin,” introducing a themed cosmetic lineup:
- Kiaraa Nakshatra Set: The character’s signature cosmetic outfit.
- Divine Radiance SCAR-L: An upgradable firearm skin.
- Divine Peacock Glider: A specialized parachute/glider skin.
- Divine Chariot Buggy: A vehicle skin matching the collection’s motif.
- Divine Edge Machete & Arrow Rain Emote: Thematic melee weapon finish and custom victory action.
In-game engagement will further include a Kiaraa Exchange Center, dedicated Arena mode challenges, and daily login reward tracks.
First India-Specific Prize Path
In tandem with the character rollout, KRAFTON is launching the Diwali Prize Path, the game’s first seasonal progression track designed specifically for the Indian market.
Active from October 22 through November 15, the path features 20 reward tiers, headlined by seasonal cosmetics including the Revel 01 Set and the Diwali Gold Set.

The peacock became her signature, and it runs through everything: the lamps in the Bazaar courtyard, the glider, the buggy, the detailing on the Nakshatra Set. The discipline was making each of those read as Indian craft while holding the finish our players expect from a top-tier collection like X-Suits and Gilt Sets. Getting her to feel like she had always belonged on Erangel was the hard part, and it is the standard we intend to hold ourselves to for everything we design here.
