At IFA 2026, Motorola announced the motorola edge 70 plus, a midrange smartphone focusing on high-resolution imaging, extended battery life, and durability.
Design and Build
The device features a quad-curved front-and-back chassis engineered to eliminate sharp edges. Built to military-grade durability standards, the phone is rated to withstand high altitudes, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Drop protection and scratch resistance are handled by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
In partnership with the Pantone Color Institute, Motorola is offering four distinct finishes:
- PANTONE Mountain View: Deep green with a silk-textured finish
- PANTONE Gray Lilac: Mauve-grey with an acetate finish
- PANTONE Milky Blue: Soft blue with a vegan leather finish
- PANTONE Sage: Muted green with a vegan leather finish

The rear camera system is anchored by a 200MP main sensor equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS), 10x Super Zoom, 4K recording, and Pantone Validated skin tone reproduction. It is paired with a dedicated macro lens for close-up photography.
On the front, a 32MP camera handles selfie duties with automatic field-of-view expansion when flipped to landscape mode, alongside 4K video recording with Adaptive Stabilization. Software processing is managed by an automated Photo Enhancement Engine designed to optimize dynamic range and texture without manual calibration.

Battery capacity is rated at 6,500mAh, supporting 45W TurboPower wired charging. The device also includes bypass charging, allowing power to route directly to the processor during heavy workloads to minimize heat and reduce battery degradation.
On the software front, the phone integrates Google’s AI suite, including Gemini Live for real-time conversational assistance and Circle to Search for contextual visual lookups directly from the display.

The motorola edge 70 plus is priced at 599.99 Euros (USD 697 / Rs. 65,910 approx.) / 529.99 GBP for the 256GB model and will roll out in select countries in Europe and the Middle East over the coming weeks.
It will launch in India as motorola edge 70 neo soon followed by edge 70 fusion, but the image shows a 50MP camera instead of a 200MP camera in the plus, even though the design and the colors are similar.
