LG Electronics is expanding energy-efficient technologies across a wider range of home appliances at IFA 2026. The lineup includes washing machines, washer-dryers, dryers, refrigerators and dishwashers, with the company showcasing the products in its Energy Leadership Zone at Messe Berlin.
Laundry appliances
LG’s laundry lineup includes a washing machine that exceeds the A-grade energy-efficiency requirement by up to 70%. A washer-dryer combination exceeds the A-grade requirement by up to 30% in the Washing Only cycle and by up to 10% in the Complete Wash and Dry cycle.
The efficiency improvements are enabled by technologies including:
- Direct Drive Motor and precise inverter control, which optimize motor speed and output throughout different stages of the laundry process.
- Dual Inverter Heat Pump™ technology in the latest dryers, which recycles heat within the system to reduce energy consumption without affecting drying performance.
LG is also introducing a new mass-premium dryer scheduled to launch later this year. The model moves from the previous B-grade rating to the new A-grade standard, bringing the same energy-saving technology to a wider range of European households.
Refrigerators
LG’s refrigerator lineup includes A-grade models across several form factors:
- Bottom-Freezer: Exceeds the A-grade requirement by up to 35%.
- Side-by-Side: Delivers A-grade energy efficiency.
- French Door: Delivers A-grade energy efficiency.
The refrigerators use cooling and compressor technologies including precise cooling control based on usage conditions, along with optimized insulation, heat exchanger and motor solutions designed to minimize energy loss.
The latest models also feature AI Saving mode, which analyzes usage data over three weeks and adjusts cooling performance during periods of low activity to help reduce energy consumption.
Dishwashers
Nearly the entire new LG dishwasher range achieves an A-grade energy rating. The lineup uses a newly engineered compact drive unit that reduces water consumption and, consequently, the energy required to heat the water, along with an improved Inverter Motor.
Selected models feature Hybrid Air Dry, which increases air circulation and shortens drying times while enabling energy savings of up to 30% higher than the A-grade level.
LG’s new AI SenseClean™ system is designed for lightly soiled loads and creates customized cycles based on up to 32 variables. It adjusts factors such as temperature and time according to the load to help conserve water and energy while managing the cleaning cycle.
Availability
LG’s high-efficiency home appliance lineup will be displayed in the Energy Leadership Zone at Hall 18, Messe Berlin, during IFA 2026 from September 4 to 8. The new mass-premium dryer is scheduled to launch later this year.
