CMF by Nothing has expanded its audio lineup in India with the launch of the CMF Buds Neo, as it had announced. Positioned as an entry-level pair of true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds, the Buds Neo combine the brand’s distinct industrial aesthetic with everyday audio and noise cancellation capabilities.
Design and Build
The CMF Buds Neo feature a geometric square charging case paired with a contrasting circular dial and a built-in lanyard hole. The earbuds are rated IP54 for dust and water resistance, while the charging case carries an IPX2 rating.
Acoustics and Audio Features
Audio performance is driven by a 12.4mm dynamic driver equipped with a titanium-coated PET dome and a flexible PEEK + PU surround. Key audio specifications include:
- Audio Processing: Support for static spatial audio along with AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs.
- Equalisation: Six preset tuning profiles (Immersion Boost, Pop, Rock, Electronic, Enhance Vocals, and Classical) alongside custom EQ adjustments via the Nothing X companion app.
- Bass Enhancement: Multi-level bass adjustment configurable to Off, Level 1 (50%), or Level 2 (100%).
Noise Cancellation and Voice Clarity
The earbuds deliver up to 35 dB of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), offering three manual intensity levels as well as an Adaptive mode that automatically adjusts based on ambient noise levels. For voice calls, the system utilizes a total of 4 HD microphones (two per earbud) integrated with Clear Voice Technology to filter environmental interference.
Battery Life and Connectivity
The charging case houses a 460 mAh battery, while each earbud contains a 45 mAh cell.
- Playback (ANC Off): Up to 11 hours on a single charge and up to 52 hours total with the case.
- Playback (ANC On): Up to 8 hours from the earbuds and up to 30 hours combined.
- Fast Charging: A 10-minute USB-C charge provides up to 5.5 hours of listening time (ANC off), with a full wired charge taking approximately 70 minutes.
