Sony India has launched the FE 100-400mm F5.6-8 OSS, a full-frame Alpha E-mount super telephoto zoom lens with a 100-400mm focal range. It weighs 654g and measures 165.5mm in length. The lens supports optional teleconverters, extending its focal length up to 800mm.
The lens uses two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements and two aspherical elements to provide high resolution and contrast from the center to the edges of the frame across the zoom range. Its optical features include:

For autofocus, the lens uses dual linear motors for fast, precise, and quiet focusing. The autofocus system can track moving subjects such as birds, wildlife, and athletes. Built-in Optical image stabilization helps reduce camera shake during handheld shooting at longer focal lengths.

It also has a dust- and moisture-resistant design for outdoor shooting.
Sustainability
As part of Sony’s Road to Zero initiative, the lens uses recycled materials in its construction. More than 41% of the total plastic weight used in the lens is recycled, including more than 32% of the plastic in the lens barrel, over 89% in the lens hood, and over 88% in the lens caps. Sony is also transitioning to non-plastic, recyclable packaging materials, with plant-based non-woven fabrics used for product bags.
