motorola launched the moto g max 5G smartphone in ‘g series’ in India earlier today. The phone packs a 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery and has a satin-textured finish. Here we have the first impressions of the phone.

The moto g max has a 6.7-inch FHD+ LCD screen with a centre punch-hole, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1050 nits HBM brightness. The screen has Corning Gorilla glass 7i protection.
Powered by a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 SoC, the phone has 6GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS UFS 3.1 internal storage. It runs Android 16, and the company has promised 2 Android OS updates and 3 years of security updates for the phone.
The phone has a 32MP camera inside the punch-hole. There is an earpiece on the top edge, which doubles up as a secondary speaker. The phone also has Dolby Atmos. It has a slightly thicker bottom bezel.
The power button, which integrates a fingerprint scanner, is present on the right side along with the volume rockers. The dual SIM slot is present on the left side, but it doesn’t have an expansion slot. The 3.5 mm audio jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is present on the top and has Dolby Atmos branding.
There is a 50MP rear camera with EIS, along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a macro option. The phone supports 2K 30 fps video recording with both the front and rear cameras. Check out some camera samples.
The phone is just 8.6mm thick even with a huge battery, has a satin-inspired finish that feels smooth to touch, and doesn’t attract fingerprints or smudge. It also has IP64 ratings for dust and splash resistance and also has MIL-STD 810H certification for military-grade durability. It has a 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 30W fast charging with the bundled 33W turbo charger.
Priced at Rs. 27,999 for the single 6GB + 128GB version, it will be available from Flipkart, motorola.in and will also be available from retail stores starting from August 20th. With the Rs. 1000 bank discount, the effective price is Rs. 26,999.
