Airtel has completed a comprehensive network enhancement program across the state of Odisha, with specific upgrades deployed to support the annual Puri Rath Yatra festival.
Recognizing the projected surge in voice and data traffic during the event, Airtel has upgraded its infrastructure in Puri, covering major road and rail corridors leading into the city. Equipped with 5G technology, these enhancements are designed to manage network demand and maintain voice connectivity alongside high-speed data services during periods of peak crowd movement.
State-Wide Network Expansion
Over the past 12 months, the company has expanded its network footprint across Odisha by deploying more than 1,500 new 5G sites. This expansion spans all 30 districts of the state, extending connectivity to urban centers, emerging towns, and rural communities. According to the company, the upgraded infrastructure currently serves over 11 million customers across the region.
Introduction of New Prepaid Plans
To coincide with the network upgrades, Airtel Odisha has introduced fully unlimited prepaid packs starting at ₹399. The new plans offer unlimited 4G and 5G data alongside voice calls for prepaid smartphone users, aimed at removing daily usage limits for data streaming, sharing, and general connectivity.
Regarding this, Abhirup Chatterjee, COO – Bharti Airtel, said:
