BGMI 4.5 update to bring Naruto Crossover event

KRAFTON India has announced a major collaboration bringing the Naruto anime franchise to Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). The crossover will debut as part of the game’s version 4.5 update and will be live from July 16, 2026.

The update represents one of BGMI’s most ambitious anime integrations to date for its 260 million players in India, introducing themed locations, gameplay mechanics based on signature abilities, and exclusive in-game collectibles.

Environmental Transformations: The Hidden Leaf Village

The collaboration will temporarily alter the familiar landscapes of the Erangel and Livik maps, blending traditional BGMI environments with landmarks from Naruto’s Konohagakure (Hidden Leaf Village).

Key In-Game Landmarks
  • The Hidden Leaf Village & Hokage Rock: Central areas reimagined with traditional ninja architecture and the iconic mountain featuring carved Hokage faces.
  • Familiar Settings: Interactive recreations of the Ichiraku Ramen Shop, Naruto’s Apartment, and the Ninja Academy.
  • Battle Arenas: Iconic locations from the franchise, including the Great Naruto Bridge, the Chunin Exam Arena, and the Valley of the End.
  • Structural Changes: Underground Secret Rooms and various urban renovations designed with a distinct Hidden Leaf aesthetic.

The update also incorporates cinematic elements to enhance player immersion. These include a Valley of the End animation depicting the final confrontation between Naruto and Sasuke, a Kurama Memory Space, a Group Photo Mode, an anime-inspired in-flight sequence at the start of matches, a Ninja Gathering Ceremony, and themed background music for the game lobby.

Gameplay Mechanics and Combat Overhauls

Beyond visual alterations, the Version 4.5 Update introduces mechanical changes to combat and movement, allowing players to utilize various legendary ninja abilities (jutsu).

Introduced Abilities
  • Offensive Jutsu: Players can deploy the Rasengan for close-range combat, the high-speed Chidori, and the Great Fireball Jutsu.
  • Tactical & Defensive Jutsu: Features include the Flying Raijin Jutsu for teleportation, Shadow Clone Jutsu to distract opponents, and the Earth Style Mud Wall to generate temporary cover.
  • Support & Movement: The Reanimation Jutsu offers a rare mechanic to revive teammates, while the Tailed Beast Cloak and Ninja Run provide combat enhancements and increased sprinting agility.
New Game Modes and Features

A notable addition to this update is Voice-Activated Ninjutsu, a feature allowing players to trigger specific abilities by speaking the command into their microphone. New gameplay experiences include a multi-phase Kurama Boss Battle against the Nine-Tailed Fox, a Nine-Tails Special Match, solo duels at the Valley of the End, and a cooperative “Defend Konoha” Mode.
