Google has announced that the Google Health app will replace the Fitbit app, and the company is also launching the Google Health Coach after launching Public Preview last year and making continuous improvements based on user feedback.
Google says that it has designed this experience around the fundamental belief that effective coaching must be built on a foundation of true understanding and appreciation for you and your unique goals.
- Personalized Onboarding: When you first get started, you’ll have an onboarding conversation to introduce yourself to your coach. You can share your specific goals, details about your daily routine, the type of equipment you have access to, any injuries you’re managing, or general lifestyle context.
- Dynamic Adaptation: Because life is dynamic, your coach is, too — you can update details or shift your goals at any time through a simple conversation, and your coach will instantly adapt its future guidance.
- On-Demand Support: You never have to wait for a nudge — you can get guidance 24/7 by simply hitting “Ask Coach” at any time.
Your Home for Proactive, Timely Insights
At the center of this experience is the redesigned Today tab, which acts as the home for the Coach’s proactive insights. The Google Health Coach isn’t just summarizing what you did yesterday; it’s doing the heavy lifting for you — cutting through the noise, looking ahead, and delivering timely insights and nudges to help you achieve your goals.
To give you the best possible guidance, the Coach connects the dots across your shared data ecosystem, including:
- Fitness and sleep metrics
- Nutrition and cycle tracking
- Environmental context like location and local weather
- Personal medical records
In general, the more context you choose to share, the more tailored and powerful the experience becomes. To make this ongoing relationship seamless, we’ve invested heavily in quality and personalization based on user feedback, making it incredibly easy to interact using quick-reply chips.
Availability
Starting May 19, Google Health Coach will exit preview and become available globally as part of the Google Health Premium subscription priced at Rs. 99 per month or Rs. 999 per year in India. It will also be included with Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra plans.
The Coach is launching first for eligible Fitbit and Pixel Watch users, with support for other devices coming soon. Anyone can download the app to get started and sign up, and if you don’t have a Fitbit device or Google Pixel Watch, you’ll get notified when the Coach is ready for you.
