Motorola and Google bring AI-powered Google Photos wardrobe feature

Motorola and Google are expanding their Android partnership with new Google Photos features and deeper integration on Motorola devices. The update uses AI to organise clothing from photos into a digital wardrobe and adds personalised content updates through a new feed experience.

Partnership expansion

Motorola and Google have worked together for years to improve Android experiences, with Google Photos serving as Motorola’s default gallery app. Building on this collaboration, both companies are introducing new features that combine AI-based photo organisation, outfit planning, and personalised content delivery across devices.

Google Photos AI wardrobe experience

A new Google Photos feature introduces a Wardrobe collection that uses AI to automatically identify clothing items and accessories from users’ photo libraries. It creates a structured, organised view of wardrobe items based on past photos.

The feature is designed to simplify daily outfit decisions, reduce “nothing to wear” situations, and help users rediscover clothing items from older images stored in their library.

Key features

  • AI automatically creates a Wardrobe collection from Google Photos library
  • Detects clothing items and accessories from photos
  • Organised digital wardrobe view built from past images
  • Category-based filtering including tops, bottoms, jewellery, and more
  • Option to view all items or browse specific categories
  • Helps rediscover forgotten clothing from old photos
  • Mix and match items to create outfits
  • Save or share outfit combinations
  • Create moodboards for different occasions such as travel, weddings, or work
  • Virtual try-on feature to preview outfits before wearing
  • “Try it on” option for instant outfit preview
Motorola Daily Drops and Memories integration

Motorola is integrating Google Photos Memories into a new feature called Daily Drops, a personalised feed that refreshes twice a day. It delivers curated updates such as news, calendar events, and weather based on user interests.

Google Photos Memories are directly embedded into this feed, allowing users to revisit past moments within Daily Drops. This marks the first time Memories are being integrated into a personalised mobile content feed.

Availability

The Google Photos Wardrobe feature will roll out to select Android devices, including Motorola smartphones, in the coming months and will later expand to iOS.

motorola’s Daily Drops feature is already rolling out in select regions across Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia, with availability expanding to the new Razr lineup after launch.
