Samsung Galaxy S26 series get Apple AirDrop file sharing

Samsung has announced the introduction of AirDrop support for its Galaxy S26 series, integrating the capability directly into its existing Quick Share framework.

This update is designed to facilitate easier cross-platform content sharing, allowing users to seamlessly transfer files, photos, and documents between Samsung and Apple devices.

Google introduced Quick Share to Apple AirDrop file sharing for the Pixel 10 family of devices back in November last year, and it was expanded to the Pixel 9 series last month.

Availability and roll out details

The feature’s rollout is scheduled to begin today, March 23. The update will initially be deployed to users in South Korea before a phased expansion into international markets. The regions slated to receive the update following the initial launch include Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan.

At present, the AirDrop compatibility is exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series smartphones. Samsung has stated that the feature will eventually be expanded to additional devices within its product lineup, with specific models and the corresponding timeline to be announced at a later date.
