Samsung just launched the Galaxy F70e 5G, the company’s latest 5G smartphone in the F series in India, as it had promised.
Design and Display
The Galaxy F70e 5G features a 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. To improve outdoor visibility, the screen includes a High-Brightness Mode (HBM) capable of reaching 800 nits. The display panel is reinforced with 2-step tempered glass for added durability.
In terms of build, the device utilizes leather-like finish for the back. The phone weighs 199g and measures 8.2mm in thickness. It features a flat side frame and holds an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. It is available in two color options: Spotlight Blue and Limelight Green.
Camera Specifications
The smartphone sports a dual-camera setup on the rear, housed in what the company calls the “Iconic Track Camera Deco.”
- Main Camera: A 50MP wide-angle sensor with an F1.8 aperture and autofocus.
- Depth Camera: A 2MP sensor designed to assist with depth perception and bokeh effects.
- Front Camera: An 8MP sensor is provided for selfies and video calling.
Battery and Performance
Powering the Galaxy F70e 5G is a 6,000mAh battery, 20% larger than its predecessor, aimed at supporting all-day usage for streaming and browsing. The device supports 25W fast charging, but doesn’t come with a charger in the box.
Connectivity features include 5G support across 12 bands, ensuring compatibility with various networks throughout India.
Software and Security
The device runs on One UI 8.0, based on the latest Android 16. Notably, Samsung has announced an extended software support policy for this model, promising six years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
A key differentiator for this segment is the inclusion of Samsung Knox Vault. This is a hardware-backed solution with a separate processor and memory, physically isolated from the main operating system. It is designed to store sensitive data—such as PINs, passwords, and biometric credentials—securely, protecting them even if the main software is compromised.
The phone also integrates biometric authentication (fingerprint and face recognition) for UPI payments via Samsung Wallet and includes an “Auto Blocker” feature to prevent unauthorized app installations.
