CMF has launched the CMF Headphone Pro in India, as it had promised. CMF has officially announced the launch of the CMF Headphone Pro in India. This marks the brand’s entry into the over-ear headphone category. The new device distinguishes itself through a modular design, unique physical controls, and an extended battery life rating.
Design and Controls
The CMF Headphone Pro features a modular architecture, primarily highlighted by its swappable ear cushions. This allows users to customize the physical appearance of the headset. The headphones are available in three colorways: Light Grey, Dark Grey, and Light Green.
Regarding on-device interface, CMF has opted for distinct physical controls rather than standard buttons or touch panels.
- The Roller: A physical dial used to control volume, manage Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) modes, and handle play/pause functions.
- The Energy Slider: A dedicated slider that allows users to adjust bass and treble levels instantly without opening a companion app.
- Customizable Button: A button that can be mapped to specific functions, such as activating Spatial Audio or accessing AI assistants.
Audio Specifications and ANC
The audio output is driven by custom-made 40mm drivers featuring nickel-plated diaphragms and a copper voice coil. The Headphone Pro supports High-Resolution Audio (Hi-Res) and utilizes the LDAC™ codec, allowing for bitrate transmission up to 990 kbps over Bluetooth.
The device features Hybrid Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation, which CMF claims can reduce ambient noise by up to 40 dB. The system automatically adjusts the level of noise cancellation based on the surrounding environment.
Additionally, the headphones support “Personal Sound” powered by Audiodo technology, which creates a custom audio profile based on the user’s hearing characteristics via the Nothing X app. Spatial Audio is also supported, offering Cinema and Concert modes.
Battery and Charging
CMF rates the Headphone Pro for up to 100 hours of continuous playback on a single charge with ANC disabled. With ANC enabled, the rated battery life is approximately 50 hours.
The device supports fast charging, providing up to 8 hours of playback from a 5-minute charge (ANC off). A notable feature is the ability to charge the headphones directly from a smartphone using a USB-C to USB-C cable.
