MATTER Motor Works, the Indian electric mobility company, has launched its flagship geared electric motorbike, AERA 5000+, in Chennai. The launch also marks the opening of MATTER’s first Experience Hub in Tamil Nadu, giving riders hands-on access to India’s first geared electric motorbike.

The AERA 5000+, designed and built entirely in India, introduces HyperShift, a 4-speed manual gearbox developed specifically for electric motorbikes. It combines manual gear shifting with the quiet torque, smooth power delivery, and efficiency typical of electric vehicles. The bike features a liquid-cooled powertrain engineered for Indian riding conditions, ensuring consistent performance in Chennai’s climate.
