Sennheiser has announced the launch of its BTD 700 Bluetooth audio dongle in the Indian market. The device is designed to provide high-quality wireless audio connectivity for a wide range of devices, including headphones and earbuds.
The BTD 700 is a compact dongle, weighing 2.2 grams, that aims to simplify high-definition wireless audio. It supports advanced Bluetooth codecs, including aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless, which allows for the transmission of audio at resolutions up to 24-bit/96 kHz$. The inclusion of these codecs is intended to deliver low-latency performance for media consumption and gaming.
In terms of connectivity, the dongle is equipped with a USB-C connector and includes a USB-A adapter to ensure broad compatibility. It is designed to work with laptops, desktop PCs, smartphones, and tablets across multiple operating systems such as Android, iOS/iPadOS, Windows, and macOS. This allows users to utilize aptX codecs even on source devices that do not natively support them.
The BTD 700 functions as a class-compliant audio device, which means it operates on a plug-and-play basis without requiring any additional software or driver installation. When connected, it bypasses the host device’s internal sound card. A dedicated Game Mode is also featured, which is stated to reduce audio latency to as low as 30 milliseconds, improving synchronization between video and audio during gameplay.
Incorporating modern Bluetooth standards, the BTD 700 is built with Bluetooth 5.4 and includes support for Auracast. This technology enables the dongle to broadcast audio to multiple compatible Auracast-enabled receivers simultaneously, which can be used in shared listening environments such as group presentations or public broadcasts.

The Sennheiser BTD 700 is now available for purchase in India at a retail price of Rs. 4,990. It can be found on Sennheiser’s official website, Amazon India, and at select premium retail stores across the country.
