vivo X300 and X300 Pro will support vivo Zeiss 2.35x telephoto teleconverter kit

vivo has confirmed that the X300 and X300 Pro models support the Vivo Zeiss 2.35x teleconverter. This accessory, also featured on the X200 Ultra, is presented as a significant enhancement for capturing distant subjects with clarity. The new teleconverter, available in a silver finish, is intended to complement the phone’s design, functioning as both a photographic tool and a cosmetic accessory.

Teleconverter and Shooting Modes

The teleconverter is designed for versatility, supporting a variety of shooting modes beyond just telephoto. These include landscape, candid shots, portraits, and professional scenes. This integration aims to provide users with an adaptable tool for different photographic situations. The series features a 200MP telephoto lens, a key component of its long-range photography capabilities.

vivo’s product manager Han Boxiao recently shared 200mm, 400mm and 800mm camera samples shot using the teleconverter.

Image Stabilization: A Core Feature

A critical aspect of telephoto photography is image stabilization, as any movement is magnified when using a teleconverter. The Vivo X300 Pro model has a CIPA 5.5 image stabilization rating, while the standard version has a 4.5 rating. These ratings are presented as industry-leading, helping to minimize motion blur even with the teleconverter attached. The design of the teleconverter is specifically tailored to the X300 series to maintain stabilization, a contrast to some periscope cameras that are not optimized for external mounts and may lose a significant portion of their stabilization effectiveness.

Teleconverter’s Versatility

The support for the Zeiss teleconverter extends to the standard model, not just the Pro version. This makes the entire X300 series compatible with the accessory. The teleconverter is available in two colorways to match the phone’s light or dark finishes. Furthermore, the teleconverter mode now includes snapshot and portrait modes, expanding its utility beyond traditional telephoto and stage-focused shooting.

Evolution of Vivo’s Telephoto Technology

The development of telephoto features in the Vivo lineup is a progression that began with the X100 Ultra, which introduced a 200MP ZEISS APO super telephoto lens. This was followed by the X200 Pro, which optimized the experience and integrated the ZEISS teleconverter set.

The X300 series builds on this foundation by providing teleconverter support across the entire series, while also featuring an upgraded 200-million-pixel ZEISS telephoto lens and enhanced image stabilization. This evolution aims to meet the demands of users interested in concert and stage photography. The full ZEISS APO super telephoto lens, teleconverter support, and high-level image stabilization are presented as key features for capturing clear and steady images from a distance.

We should know more details in the coming weeks before the phones go official on October 13th.
