Samsung India has formally partnered with Startup India, a key initiative of the Government of India, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The collaboration aims to support young innovators across India and strengthen the country’s startup ecosystem through Samsung’s “Solve for Tomorrow” program. The MoU was signed in New Delhi.
This partnership integrates Samsung’s “Solve for Tomorrow” innovation contest with Startup India’s framework of incubation, mentorship, and policy support. The objective is to identify and cultivate promising talent, particularly from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Participants in the program will gain access to infrastructure, expert guidance, market connections, and potential funding.
“Samsung Solve for Tomorrow” is designed to promote problem-solving, creativity, and social impact among young people in India. The initiative encourages students to identify community issues and develop scalable solutions using design thinking, technology, and entrepreneurial skills. The program provides mentorship, workshops, prototype development support, and opportunities for participants to present their ideas to experts and investors.
Under the new agreement, Startup India will utilize its network of incubators and accelerators, while Samsung will focus on direct engagement with students and young innovators through hands-on learning and innovation challenges. This cooperative strategy seeks to scale grassroots innovation and integrate it into India’s education and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
This public-private partnership between Samsung India and Startup India aligns with the “Make in India,” “Digital India,” and “Skill India” initiatives, aiming to position young, local innovators at the forefront of India’s technological and manufacturing development.
“Samsung Solve for Tomorrow” was first launched in the US in 2010 and is currently active in 68 countries, with over 3 million participants globally. For the 2025 edition, the top four winning teams will be awarded an incubation program and a grant of INR 1 crore. The top 20 teams will receive INR 20 lakh, and the top 40 teams will receive INR 8 lakh.
This year’s program encouraged participants to develop solutions across four themes: AI for a Safer, Smarter, and Inclusive Bharat; Future of Health, Hygiene, and Well-being in India; Social change through Sports and Tech for Education and Better Futures; and Environmental Sustainability via Technology.
The program has identified innovators from diverse regions, including Samastipur in Bihar, Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, Baramulla in Jammu & Kashmir, and Cachar in Assam. The geographic reach and range of ideas submitted across all themes highlight the program’s impact.
