OPPO India has announced the second edition of its Photography Awards, now powered by LUMO. Previously known as the ‘imagine IF Photography Awards‘, the rebranding to LUMO reflects OPPO’s stated aim to advance mobile imaging and visual storytelling within India.
In a collaboration with Discovery, OPPO has introduced the ‘Super Culture Moment’ category as part of the Culture in a Shot Marketing Initiative. This category encourages participants to use OPPO’s photography features to capture India’s diverse cultural landscape.
The judging panel for the competition includes Vikram Channa, VP at Warner Bros Discovery and editorial chief for content production for Southeast Asia, and acclaimed photographer Joseph Radhik.
The competition is open to Indian citizens aged 18 and above and features nine categories: Super Snap, Youth, Live, Me, Vibe, Story, Connection, Culture, and Environs. Participants are required to submit a title and a 60–150-word description for each photograph, explaining its symbolism.
In Round 1, an expert jury will shortlist 50 finalists. For Round 2, finalists will undertake a creative challenge using the OPPO Find X8 Pro smartphone. The jury, led by Joseph Radhik and Vikram Channa, will then select winners based on creativity, impact, and storytelling.
The global OPPO photography contest in 2023 received over 700,000 entries from 51 countries. Its debut in India in 2024 attracted over 34,000 entries. The 2025 edition in India is based on the theme ‘Super Every Moment’, emphasizing photography’s ability to transform experiences into stories.
Submissions for Round 1 are open at lumo.oppo.com/in/ until September 15, 2025 (Midnight IST), Round 2 Submission Begins October 20th, and ends mid-November 2025. Final winners are scheduled to be announced by the end of November 2025.

Commenting on this, Sushant Vashistha, Head of Product & Digital Marketing at OPPO India, said:
LUMO is our ode to creativity — a platform where every image tells a story, and every story becomes a moment of magic. The first edition, imagine IF, received thousands of stunning submissions from across India. It laid the foundation for this year’s competition, powered by LUMO. This season, we aim to celebrate not just the outcome but the creative journey behind every powerful visual, powered by OPPO’s imaging technology.
Vikram Channa, VP at Warner Bros Discovery, and editorial chief for content production for South East Asia, commented:
At Discovery Channel, storytelling is central to our work. Our collaboration with OPPO India supports our mission to highlight diverse cultures. The ‘Super Culture Moment’ category encourages creators to capture and celebrate India’s cultural heritage using OPPO’s advanced technology.
