realme just introduced the realme Neo8, the company’s standalone Neo series smartphone in China, as it had promised.
Design
The phone features a transparent RGB design and is available in three colors: Cyber Purple, Origin White, and Mecha Gray . A new transparent 3D partitioning process engraves 11 different textures of varying depths, allowing light and shadow to refract differently on the back panel. It also features a “Make it real.” nameplate design. The Awakening Halo has officially returned, supporting e-sports lighting effects, notification lighting effects, and music lighting effects. A new lucky color flipping function is very practical for lottery scenarios.
In addition, the new phone also features a flagship design: a metal frame, a glass back cover, elegant large rounded corners, and ultra-narrow visual equal sides. It has IP66+IP68+IP69 full-level dust and water resistance, Sky Map, an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint sensor, X-axis linear motor, super-linear stereo speakers, multi-angle NFC, an infrared remote control, and crystal armor glass.
Display
realme has partnered with Samsung Display to exclusively customize a brand-new 165Hz Samsung Sky Screen, using the flagship M14 luminescent material. It features a manual peak brightness of 1000 nits, a global peak brightness of 1800 nits, and a local peak brightness of 6500 nits, supporting a 3800 nits sunlight display. Even at the extreme high brightness of 3800 nits, it still achieves an ultra-wide color gamut coverage of 103% P3.
165Hz increases the number of frames per second by 45 and the frame rate per second by 27%. It supports native 165 ultra-high frame rate in more than 30 popular games, covering five major categories of popular mobile games and five top shooting mobile games.
In addition, the device is equipped with a custom-designed touch chip that supports a 3800Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate; the new Green Field Eye Protection feature supports full-brightness DC dimming, hardware-level low blue light, AI active eye protection technology, and active eye protection adjustment.

In terms of performance, the new phone is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform. In addition, it also features UFS 4.1 + LPDDR5X, a high-airflow cooling system, and the Sky Communication System.
The new phone features a next-generation GT performance engine, supporting advanced energy efficiency scheduling, dedicated gaming performance cores, and a super frame rate algorithm. Powered by the GT performance engine, the Neo8 achieves a full 165Hz refresh rate in four major first-person shooter games including Call of Duty Mobile. It also maintains stable frame rates in popular MOBA games and large-scale open-world mobile games.
It also features a next-generation geek performance panel that can break through the temperature control limit without root access:
- Customizable temperature control: -2 to +2, a total of 5 temperature control levels. The higher the level, the stronger the performance release.
- Custom chip frequency: Customize the CPU/GPU frequency according to the game experience requirements.
The realme Neo8 is the first in the industry to feature a PC handheld mode, supporting the local operation of PC games on the phone, cross-platform compatibility with PC accounts for officially licensed games, and verification that over 50 popular PC games can be played even with poor network conditions.

In terms of imaging, the new phone features a Sony IMX896 50MP main camera with OIS optical image stabilization, supporting 1x-4x zoom coverage, Live Photo slow-motion release, new tone mode presets, and direct output of 8K ultra-high-definition photos.
Additionally, it boasts a 50MP periscope telephoto lens , supporting 3.5x optical zoom, 7x lossless zoom, and up to 120x ultra-high-definition zoom, along with AI super text algorithms and AI spatial recognition + automatic correction algorithms. Ther is also a 8MP ultra-wide camera and 16MP front camera.
Battery
The new phone features an 8000mAh battery with a silicon content increased to 16%, resulting in a 3% improvement in energy density compared to its predecessor. The phone supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, bypass charging in all scenarios, and is compatible with multiple mainstream fast charging protocols such as UFCS, PPS, PD, and QC.
