OnePlus 13s to launch in India on June 5th

After teasers, OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 13s smartphone is scheduled to launch in India on June 5th, 2025. Joining the OnePlus 13 Series, the 13s aims to deliver flagship-level performance and integrated AI features within a design optimized for single-handed operation. The device will be available in three distinct color options – Black Velvet, Pink Satin, and Green Silk – specifically tailored for the Indian market.

Performance

The OnePlus 13s is engineered to provide robust performance in a smaller form factor. It will be powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon® 8 Elite platform, intended to facilitate seamless multitasking, gaming, and on-device AI processing. The company emphasizes the device’s ability to maintain smooth and efficient operation even under demanding conditions, such as gaming or use in high temperatures.

Addressing potential thermal management concerns associated with a compact design, the OnePlus 13s incorporates a 4400mm² Cryo-Velocity Vapor Chamber, described as one of the largest in its class.

Additionally, an external cooling layer on the back cover is implemented to aid in heat dissipation, aiming to keep the device comfortable to hold. This cooling system is designed to ensure sustained performance during prolonged usage scenarios like video calls, gaming sessions, or outdoor use in hot climates.

OnePlus claims that the 13s will offer the longest battery life seen in a compact phone to date. Internal testing reportedly demonstrated stable frame rates for 7 hours of gameplay on Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) on a full charge. Furthermore, the device is said to provide 24 hours of continuous WhatsApp call usage and 16 hours of Instagram browsing on a single charge.

Design

The design of the OnePlus 13s emphasizes simplicity, featuring a minimalist approach to the camera module. With a thickness of 8.15mm and a weight of 185g, the device is designed for comfortable one-handed use, incorporating a 50:50 balanced weight distribution and a curved 2.5D glass on both the front and back for an enhanced grip.

The three available colorways include Black Velvet, Pink Satin, and the India-exclusive Green Silk. The Green Silk variant is inspired by the olive tree and intends to symbolize growth and renewal, while also representing a continuation of OnePlus’s signature green hues. The Green and Pink models will feature a new Velvet Glass finish, characterized by a soft and smooth texture.

Plus Key

A new feature, the Plus Key, is introduced as an evolution of the Alert Slider. This customizable button aims to provide quick access to sound profiles (Sound, Vibration, and Do Not Disturb), AI tools, and other user-defined functions.

360° antenna system and G1 Wi-Fi chipset

To address potential signal limitations in compact devices, the OnePlus 13s includes an enhanced 360° antenna system with 11 antennas. This includes three high-performance modules for improved gaming and streaming experiences, as well as a four-mode ultra-wideband low-frequency antenna designed to optimize signal reception. A new self-developed signal-balanced mode technology is said to improve signal strength and reduce the impact of hand obstruction.

The inclusion of a G1 Wi-Fi chipset, described as the only independently integrated Wi-Fi chipset for smartphones in India, aims to deliver stable and fast Wi-Fi connectivity, particularly in challenging environments such as public transportation or buildings with weak signals. As part of the OnePlus 13 Series, the 13s will continue to support 5.5G in India, allowing connection to multiple network cells simultaneously for improved connectivity on the go.

Further details regarding the OnePlus 13s are expected to be disclosed at the official launch event.  As usual, the phone will be sold on Amazon.in, in addition to OnePlus India online store as well as offline stores.
