Airtel 5G Plus launched officially; now live in 8 cities

After announcing the roll-out of 5G services in 8 cities at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022, Airtel today officially launched its 5G services which it is calling ‘Airtel 5G plus’ in 8 cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur and Varanasi.

Airtel said that it will roll out the services in these cities in a phased manner as it construct its network and complete the roll out. Customers who have 5G smartphones will enjoy the high speed Airtel 5G Plus on their existing data plans until the roll out is more widespread, said the company.

It will cover in all key metros by the end of this year, all of urban India in 2023 and across the country by March 2024. Since the existing Airtel 4G SIM is 5G enabled, no SIM change needed to enjoy 5G services.
