Last month Reliance Jio unofficially started offering Jio Preview Offer with free 90 days of unlimited data, calls and messaging to all 4G smartphones. Now the company has officially announced that its Jio Welcome Offer that would offer free Jio SIM with free Data, Voice, SMS and the full bouquet of Jio applications and content till December 31st 2016 will be available for all 4G smartphones.
Even though it has listed several smartphones on its site, it doesn’t mention Lumia devices and iPhone. We got the “Get Jio SIM” option on iPhone in MyJio app, but still there is no MyJio Windows Phone app for Lumia users.
The offer was recently expanded to OnePlus, OPPO, LeEco, Moto, Huawei and Infocus 4G smartphones.
To avail this offer, you need to Install the MyJio App and generate code on a 4G smartphone and submit your KYC documents at a Reliance Digital or Dx Mini Store to get your free Jio SIM card.
You can follow the instructions here mentioned for Samsung phones to get a SIM and activate the offer.
At the launch event earlier this month Jio announced that sign-up will be made 100% digital using an Aadhaar based eKYC process that will roll out across India in the next few weeks. This will allow customers carrying an Aadhaar card walk into a Jio store and get a working connection within 15 minutes.
Jio’s 4G network covers 18,000 cities and towns, and over 2 lakh villages. By March 2017 it plans to cover 90% of India’s population.
