Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 launching in India on September 21

Xiaomi is all set to launch its first Mi Ecosystem product in India on September 21st at an event in Delhi. The company has started sending out invites for the launch event, which just says “2016 has been amazing for Mi and to add to our journey, we are pleased to invite you for the launch of our first Mi Ecosystem product in India.” Without hinting anything about the product.

Manu Kumar Jain, Head of Mi India teased on Twitter with “Every breath of fresh air is equally important!” confirming that the company will launch the second-generation Mi Air Purifier in the country. It will also offer live stream for the event on YouTube, which will begin at 12PM.

The Mi Air Purifier 2, which is the successor to the first Air Purifier that was introduced in 2014 is compact, measuring just 240mm x 520mm, is 11% quieter and is 58% power efficient compared to the fist Mi Air Purifier. It can be controlled using an app, similar to the first one.

It has 3-layered filter that promises to remove 99.99% of PM2.5 particles and produces about 10,000 liters with Clean Air Delivery Rate of 330m3/h in standard mode and 338m3/h in active mode. It has new air pressurization system that includes axial fan, brushless DC motor and a Francis fan design and conical duct. It has built-in WiFi module 802.11n that connects to your home WiFi network so that you can access it via app.

The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 was introduced at 699 Yuan (US$ 104 / Rs. 7,000 approx) in China. Hope we can expect it to launch in India for less than Rs. 10,000.
