Lenovo Vibe X2 Hands on and Photo Gallery

Lenovo launched the Vibe X2 at IFA, Berlin 2014 last week. We got our hands on the company’s latest smartphone in the X series. The phone is rectangular in shape and boasts a tri-layer design which the Chinese smartphone maker claims is the first to make one.

What sets the Lenovo Vibe X2 apart is its gradient three layer design which comprises of the top black display layer, second layer is two shades of orange and the last one is silver back. The phone is made of plastic but this tri-layer design gives its a unique and premium look. It measures 140.2 X 68.6 X 7.27mm and weighs only 120g.

The Vibe X2 sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display which Lenovo is calling as a wide view HD display. It has great viewing angles along with decent brightness and contrast ratios. The phone is powered by a 2 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6595 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat). It has a 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory but no expandable storage option.

On the top we have a standard 3.5 mm audio jack.

The volume rockers and the power button are situated on the right side of the device. While the sim card slot is present on the left side and the micro UB port at the bottom.

At the back we can see the 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash and Lenovo logo in the middle. The back is made of plastic but has a metallic finish to it which looks great.  It has a 2300mAh battery and supports 4G LTE/ 3G, Wi-Fi Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and  GPS.

The Lenovo Vibe X2 boasts of Vibe UI 2.0 on top with personalized lock screen, Instant On camera, transparent icons and more. Lenovo claims  that the UI offers improved everyday experiences and learns based on your interactions. In the front is has a 5MP camera with wide angle for selfies.

It has new innovative click-on accessories, known as VIBE Xtensions, VIBE X2 Battery and VIBE X2 speaker. The Xtension cases add a fourth layer to the VIBE X2’s multi-layer design.The 5.1mm X2 Battery protects the phone and extends the battery life up to 75 percent and the VIBE X2 speaker offers better audio and has built-in mic for group conference calls. Finally, the Vibe X2 will come with dual SIM support in Asia Pacific region and single SIM support in other regions.

The Lenovo Vibe X2 comes in White, Red, Gold and Dark Grey colors and is priced at US$399 (Rs. 24,000 approx.). It would be available first in China starting in October and would roll out in Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and the Middle East in countries later.
