Asus ROG introduces new ROG Zephyrus, ROG G703, ROG Strix SCAR, Strix Hero Edition Gaming laptops


Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) today has announced the company’s next-generation gaming lineup, powered by the latest 8th Generation Intel Core processors. The product line-up includes ROG Zephyrus (GX501GI), ROG G703, ROG Strix SCAR Edition, ROG Strix Hero Edition, and ROG Strix GL503 laptops, and the ROG Strix GL12 desktop. 

The Asus ROG Zephyrus M (GM501) is an Ultra-slim gaming laptop that is powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU and features a 15.6-inches Full HD (1920 x 1080) ultra-responsive 144Hz, 3ms IPS-level AHVA IPS display with anti-glare, 72% NTSC color gamut, 178°wide-angle. It is powered by the Intel Core i7-8750H processor with up to 3.9GHz on all 6 cores, with up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB graphics.

Asus ROG Zephyrus M (GM501)

The gaming laptop comes with up to 16GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM and 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD and 1TB FireCuda SSHD. It comes with 1 x USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C over Thunderbolt, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen1, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen2, 1 x HDMI 2.0, and 3.5mm headphone. Connectivity features include 802.11ac Wave 2 Gigabit Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. It comes with built-in HD camera and 55WHrs, 4S1P, 4-cell Li-ion battery. it runs on Windows 10.

It comes with AAS that allows the Zephyrus M to run cool and quiet. AAS creates 20% more space for air circulation, increases airflow by up to 32%, and reduces internal temperatures by up to 20%. It also features the world’s first switchable GPU modes, users can choose between power-saving or G-SYNC. The Aura Sync lets gamers customize and sync up light effects with Aura Sync-enabled gaming mice, headsets, keyboards and other peripherals.

The Asus ROG Huracan (G21) gaming desktop is powered by an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics. It comes with a patented magnetically-secured side cover that can be opened to increase airflow to boost CPU and GPU cooling performance. It sports a 2.5-inch hot-swap bay for an SSD and a slide-open chassis design. The ESS Sabre DAC and amplifier on the front audio jack provides high-definition sound.

Asus ROG Huracan (G21)

It supports up to 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz memory, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics and can take up to a 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD and a 2TB HDD, and up to a 2TB HDD with Intel Optane Memory technology. It runs on Windows 10. There is also an i5 processor model. Ports include 1 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A, 1 RJ45 LAN and it weighs 8.3kgs.

Asus ROG Zephyrus (GX501GI)

The ROG Zephyrus (GX501GI) is yet another gaming laptop that is powered by the latest 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (Max-Q) graphics. It sports a 15.6-inches FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS-level display with 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms GTG response time, NVIDIA G-SYNC technology, and anti-glare coating. It runs on Windows 10/ Windows 10 Professional.

It comes with up to 24GB DDR4 2666MHz SDRAM and up to 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3,0 x4 storage, 1 x USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C over Thunderbolt, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen1, 2 x USB 3.1 Gen2, 1 x HDMI 2.0, and 3.5mm headphone. Connectivity features include 802.11ac Wave 2 Gigabit Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. It comes with built-in HD camera and 4-cell, 50Wh battery. The laptop features Backlit chiclet keyboard Aura Sync N-key rollover 1.4mm key travel and weighs 2.2KGs.

Asus ROG G703

The Asus ROG G703 is powered by the 8th Generation Intel Core i9 processor and comes with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics. It is the first gaming laptop to power 8th Gen i9 processor. It sports a 17.3-inch FHD IPS-level display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms GTG response time, NVIDIA G-SYNC technology, and anti-glare coating. It comes with up to 64GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM, upto 2TB SATA 5400-rpm SSHD and also has slots for SSD storage with up to 512GB storage.

Asus Strix SCAR and HERO Edition

Asus has also launched the Strix SCAR and HERO Edition gaming laptops. They both are powered by the 8th Generation Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics, up to 32GB DDR4 memory, and up to 256GB SSD storage. They sports a 15.6″ display with a fast 120Hz refresh rate, wide-view technology, and a wide 94% NTSC (130% sRGB) color gamut. Also launched are the ROG Strix GL503 and ROG Strix GL12 gaming desktop.

Pricing and Availability:

  • The Asus ROG Zephyrus M (GM501) gaming laptop starts at $1499 (Rs.97,475 approx.) and goes up to $2199 (Rs. 1,42,989 approx.). It will be available for pre-order starting April 3rd in the United States.
  • Asus ROG Huracan (G21) will be available in late Q2 and pricing will be announced at the time of launch.
  • The Asus ROG Zephyrus (GX501GI) will start at $2899 (Rs. 1,88,540 approx.). It will be available for pre-order starting April 3rd in the United States.
  • The Asus ROG G703 will start at $3499 (Rs. 2,27,560 approx.). It will be available for pre-order starting April 3rd in the United States.
  • The Asus Strix SCAR and HERO Edition gaming laptops start at $1099 (Rs. 71,500 approx.) It will be available for pre-order starting April 3rd in the United States.

As for Indian launch, the all-new ASUS ROG new 8th Gen gaming systems will be available from Q2 in India at online & AES Stores.
