Nokia N8 is shipping

Nokia has announced the they have started shipping the first batch of Nokia N8 which is the much anticipated camera phone from the Finnish phone maker. The company has commenced shipments from it’s factories in Salo, Finland and Beijing , China. Nokia has said that the pre-orders received for the N8 are the best ever for any Nokia device.

We just checked with our local Nokia Store in India and they say that the device will be arriving within 1 week for customers who pre-ordered the device. We should be getting our review unit soon and look out for our impressions and review on FoneArena.

    My npd says 23k man.. he said he wont take more than that when its launched, hard to believe.. maybe taxes not included ? i already paid 3k so rest 20k i have to pay when i get the N8…

My NPD says 24k-25k. I have paid 20k already. I am very excited to get my hands on the N8.

Go to a Nokia Priority Dealer near you and then tell him that you want to pre-order the N8.
The dealer will ask for some money in advance, starting from 2000-3000. He/she will give you a receipt to take home. They will call you when the handsets are ready to be sold. They will also call you to ask which colour you would want.
They had also called me to ask that which handset did I use previously. I wonder why?
Anyway, I hope I have been able to present what you wanted to know.

said the cost as 55k..

Well, I would have pre-ordered N8 given :-

* Official price of the phone was disclosed inclusive of taxes.
* Payment system should have been inculcated in “getyournokia” website.
* If choice for colour of handset was offered there-in.
* If Nokia was to ship N8 directly to the end customer just like “Dell” do here in India.

This pre-order scheme appears to me as dumb as it can get ! I mean what’s the fun in filling online application form, then move to Nokia dealer, provide details there alongwith pre-order amount & than keep on waiting for response of dealer.
