The BatteryBox has a 60Wh or about 16000mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It is compatible with MacBooks made after mid-2012 with Magsafe 2 connector and offers output of 13.5 to 20V-3.0A. It powers the MacBook rather than charging it, by bypassing the MacBook’s built-in battery. This minimizes the number of cycles on the internal battery for a better battery life, says the company. It uses BatteryOS technology to dynamically manage energy in the battery pack during charging, idling, and discharging and lasts for 3000 cycles.

It promises up to 7.4 hours extra charge for 13″ MacBook Pro Retina, up to 13 hours extra charge for 13″ MacBook Air and up to 80 hours extra charge for the iPhone 5s. When you press the small button on the front, the LED indicators light up to show the remaining charge.

It has a USB port on one side to connect a standard USB cable with 5V-2.1A output for charging a smartphone or any other device. Since the magnetic cable that Apple uses for MacBooks is patented, the BatteryBox comes with SnapFit Connector for connecting it to the MacBook. There are 4 SnapFit clips, each compatible with a different MacBook model.

On the other side there is a micro USB port for charging (5V-2.5A) the BatteryBox. It takes about 6 to 8 hours to charge the BatteryBox. It weighs 404 grams, even though it packs a huge battery.
