Samsung has introduced its latest luxury foldable smartphone, the W27, developed in partnership with China Telecom under the “Heart to the World” series. Based on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra architecture, the device introduces dedicated satellite connectivity alongside premium hardware configurations.
Design and Build
Positioned for the business and luxury segments, the W27 incorporates a dual-tone aesthetic available in color options including red and blue. The exterior framework, hinge assembly, rear camera housing, and lens accent rings feature a gold-finish trim. The rear panel is printed with the signature “Heart to the World” emblem.
For durability, both the rear panel and the exterior cover screen utilize Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3.
Box contents include an exclusive Kevlar magnetic protective case, and a 45W power charger, in addition to a cable and the SIM card ejector tool.
Display and Core Performance
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy mobile platform paired with 16GB of memory.
The display setup features second-generation Dynamic AMOLED panels across both interfaces:
- Cover Display: 6.5 inches
- Main Folding Display: 8.0 inches
Both screens support an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz and achieve peak brightness levels of up to 3000 nits, alongside a 14.7% increase in pixel density compared to prior configurations.
Power is supplied by a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W wired fast charging. On the software front, the W27 integrates the Samsung Galaxy AI suite—delivering tools such as instant search and simultaneous translation—anchored by the Samsung Knox security platform.
Camera Capabilities
The rear imaging system comprises a triple-camera array:
- Primary Sensor: 200MP
- Ultra-Wide Sensor: 50MP
- Telephoto Sensor: 10MP
Both the outer cover display and the internal folding screen house 10MP front-facing cameras. The camera package supports up to 8K video capture, alongside stabilization features such as Super Steady and horizontal horizon lock.
Satellite Communication
The W27 integrates support for the Tiantong satellite communication network. Users who activate the service receive an allocation of one year of direct satellite network access, 300 minutes of satellite voice calls, and 100 satellite text messages, alongside eligibility for 200 million future Telecom Tokens through carrier incentives.
