Marking a decade of operations in India’s telecommunications sector, Reliance Jio has introduced a limited-period promotional offer on its JioBharat feature phone lineup. Released in conjunction with the festive season, the initiative aims to facilitate the migration of existing 2G users to 4G networks by lowering entry costs for both hardware and cellular service.
Under the promotional pricing structure, eligible JioBharat 4G devices are being offered for ₹1,499. The package includes six months of cellular service comprising unlimited voice calls and 14GB of data per month, subject to standard terms and conditions.
The company stated that when factoring in the market value of the bundled connectivity plans, the effective cost of the handset itself comes to approximately ₹299.
Device Specifications and Digital Services
The JioBharat handset is built around entry-level hardware intended for daily communication and basic digital services:
- Hardware: Equipped with a 2.4-inch display, a 2,000mAh battery, and native 4G cellular support.
- Content and Media: Pre-loaded applications include JioTV, which provides access to over 500 television channels, alongside JioHotstar for streaming movies, series, and live sporting events. Handsets also support on-demand music streaming.
- Financial Services: The integration of JioPay enables Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions from a feature phone format, accompanied by audio payment confirmations via built-in sound box functionality and payment alerts.
- Safety Features: Built-in safety utilities include the Jio Safety Shield suite, featuring secure calling protections and location-monitoring tools for families.
The initiative targets the segment of Indian mobile subscribers who continue to rely on legacy 2G networks, positioning bundled hardware and prepaid data as a pathway to widen access to mobile internet, digital payments, and multimedia services.
This is applicable for JioBharat A1, B1, B2 and B3 models. You can check out more details about the offer on jio.com.
