Lumio has expanded into the home audio market with the launch of the Lumio Aura 5, an active Hi-Fi bookshelf speaker pair. Aimed at bridging the gap between studio-grade audio fidelity and modern consumer convenience, the Aura 5 eliminates the need for standalone AV receivers, pre-amplifiers, or external power amps.
Enclosure Design and Acoustic Architecture
The Aura 5 is constructed from high-density composite wood designed to minimise cabinet resonance and prevent internal acoustic reflections. The front baffle incorporates a curved ABS waveguide and a convex contour engineered to provide wide, room-filling dispersion rather than confining sweet-spot listening to a narrow axis.
Each cabinet features a two-way driver configuration paired with a front bass port:
- High Frequencies: A 1-inch silk dome tweeter crossed over at 4 kHz to reproduce high-frequency harmonics, transient attack, and detail.
- Mid-to-Low Frequencies: A 4.5-inch aluminium cone woofer fitted with a rubber roll surround, selected for fast transient response and control across percussion and lower-midrange vocals.
The speakers provide physical left-right stereo separation and are driven by an internal amplifier producing 100W RMS sustained power (200W peak).
Measured using a UMIK-1 calibrated microphone via REW software at 1 metre, the Aura 5 maintains a flat frequency response of 35Hz to 20kHz (±3dB), delivers a sustained sound pressure level (SPL) of 105dB, and keeps total harmonic distortion (THD) under 1%. Bass response extends down to 35Hz at 80dB, designed to render low-end impact without requiring a companion subwoofer.
Signal Processing and DGS Audio Tuning
For digital reproduction, the onboard digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) supports bit-perfect lossless playback up to 24-bit/48kHz. To suppress background electrical interference, the DAC operates on an isolated, low-noise analogue supply rail decoupled from the digital and switching electronics.
The speakers feature Lumio’s proprietary DGS digital signal processing profiles, tuned for distinct media environments:
- DGS Studio: A reference-grade, neutral response designed for standard music listening, vocal tracking, and podcasts.
- DGS Cinema: Emphasises upper-register frequencies and spatial cues to enhance dialogue intelligibility and cinematic soundscapes.
- DGS Groove: Elevates low-frequency response for modern electronic and rhythmic genres.
- Connectivity, DSP Control, and Interface
The Lumio Aura 5 supports seven audio inputs to accommodate living room entertainment, desk setups, and standalone audio sources:
- Living Room & TV: HDMI ARC with HDMI-CEC support for synchronised power and volume control via TV remotes, along with a standard TOSLink Optical input.
- Desktop & Digital Sources: USB Type-A supporting PC audio mode as well as direct playback of FLAC and MP3 files from flash storage; digital Coaxial for CD transports.
- Analogue Equipment: Analogue AUX (RCA) input compatible with external phono stages, turntables, media players, or mobile devices.
- Wireless: Bluetooth 5.4 with SBC codec support and an operational range of up to 8 metres.
System navigation is managed via the included Minion OLED Bluetooth remote, which features an integrated display to show current source and DSP sound modes.
For tactile adjustments, the primary unit houses physical analogue control knobs for Bass, Treble, and Volume, processed in real time by the onboard DSP without added latency. A companion Lumio Aura app for Android and iOS is scheduled for release in an upcoming software rollout.

Pricing and availability
The Lumio Aura 5 will retail at ₹24,999 on Amazon India. The product will launch during the Amazon Great Indian Festival with an introductory early-bird price of ₹19,999, starting October 15, alongside applicable partner bank discounts.
Lumio backs the speaker pair with a 1-year comprehensive warranty, while the Minion OLED remote includes 6 months of coverage. Customer support will be delivered through on-site home service supported by the brand’s existing network of over 300 authorized service centres across India.
