POCO today launched the X8 Power, the company’s latest smartphone in the X8 series, in India. This brings a 1.5K OLED screen, IP69K ratings, and a whopping 10,000mAh battery, a first for POCO. Here we have the first impressions of the phone.

The phone has a 6.83-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED screen. It has HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision. It has up to 3200 nits brightness, so the sunlight legibility is good even in bright outdoors. There is 3840 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The screen has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The tiny punch-hole houses a 32MP camera. On the top edge there is a loudspeaker grill that also doubles up as a speaker. It has an ultra-narrow bottom bezel. There is a in-display optical fingerprint scanner.
It is India’s first phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 4nm SoC with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3.0 out of the box. The company has promised 4 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates for the phone to match other phones in the X8 series.
Coming to the button placements, the volume rockers and the power button are present on the right side of the phone. The dual SIM slot, loudspeaker grill, primary microphone, and USB Type-C port are present on the bottom. It doesn’t have a microSD expansion slot. On the top there is a vent for the speaker, a secondary microphone, and an infrared sensor.
The POCO X8 Power features the 50MP rear camera and a 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. It supports up to 4K 30fps video recording on the front and the back. Check out some camera samples.
The phone plastic frame that looks like a metal. We have the signature POCO yellow version that has a vegan leather finish. It also comes in standard version in black. It has IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance ratings.
The POCO X8 Power packs a huge 10,000mAh battery, the highest on a POCO phone yet with support for 100W fast charging and also supports 27W reverse charging. Even with a huge battery, it weighs 229 grams.
The POCO X8 Power starts at Rs. 35,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. With all the offers, the phone will be available starting at an effective price of Rs. 32,999. It will be available from Flipkart starting from September 11th.
