POCO just launched the M8 Power 5G, the company’s latest smartphone in the M8 series in India, as it had announced.
Display and Design
The POCO M8 Power 5G features the brand’s first 6.99-inch ultra-large OLED display. The screen delivers a resolution of 2396×1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. The display covers the DCI-P3 wide color gamut and features a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1. For enhanced user interaction, it includes a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, and in-display fingerprint recognition
The smartphone is available in three color variants: black, blaze orange, and green.
Performance and Battery Life
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 mobile platform, built on a 4nm process technology. The chipset delivers an AnTuTu score exceeding 630,000+, offering reliable everyday multitasking and power-efficient performance. To keep thermals in check during extended sessions, POCO has incorporated a large 10,416 sq mm graphite dissipation area.
A central highlight of the device is its 8,000mAh silicone carbon battery. Powered by the Xiaomi Surge G1 Battery Management Chip, the high-capacity Silicon-Carbon battery is engineered for dependable all-day endurance, said the company.
POCO promises up to 3 days of usage on a single charge. According to official battery endurance metrics, the phone provides:
- Up to 42 hours of continuous video playback
- Up to 68 hours of social media scrolling
- Up to 18 hours of gaming
- Up to 16 hours of turn-by-turn navigation
It supports 45W wired fast charging (charger included in the box) and 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing you to use the phone as a power bank to top up accessories or secondary devices on the go.
Software
The device runs Xiaomi HyperOS out of the box on top of Android 16, with POCO promising sustained system software updates for prolonged usability. It offers 4 generations of Android OS updates and 6 years of security updates.
Camera & Built-In AI
For photography, the POCO M8 Power 5G features a 50MP primary AI camera backed by intelligent scene detection that automatically fine-tunes camera settings across various shooting environments. Selfies and video calls are handled by an 8MP front camera. The camera suite comes with dedicated AI Photography modes to enhance low-light shots, portrait bokeh, and overall color dynamic range.
Build and Durability
Despite housing an 8,000mAh power cell, the phone features a sleek profile with a metallic finish middle frame and a premium matte back. The front glass is reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and the device comes certified with IP64 dust and water resistance for peace of mind against everyday splashes and spills.

The POCO M8 Power 5G is priced at Rs. 24,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model, and the 8GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 27,999. With the bank offer and launch day offer, the effective starting price is Rs. 21,999.
It will be available from Flipkart starting from August 7th during the Flipkart Freedom Sale.
